Dear St. Joseph Primary School Parents and Community,
As Principal of the St. Joseph School, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another great year. We are all excited to have students back in our classrooms and filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. It is our mission to help every child feel welcomed, connected, and a part of our St. Joseph School family. Additionally, we strive to challenge each student to grow into his/ her academic abilities by the end of our 8 year term. At St. Joseph, we have great teachers who spend hours planning and creating classroom activities to engage our students in learning along with the use of our digital white boards. We believe that all our students should graduate from our school prepared for the demands of high school education, meaningful careers, and effective citizenship.
We hope that you will find our website helpful and informative. All of the information we send out via email can also be found on this site. Look out for our newsletters that we will be sending out very soon and a copy will be uploaded to our website’s news tab. We also have entered dates for all events and activities into the “calendar” feature of our website. Additionally, we have a Facebook account https://www.facebook.com/saintjosephschoolsxm/ that we will use to send out updates and quick announcements as we go through the school year.
Once again, Welcome Back! Let us make it another great year at St. Joseph School together!

The St. Joseph School Choir was chosen by the St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce as the recipient of this donation, in appreciation of its participation in COCI events and in support of its contributions to the community of St. Maarten. This choir not only brings joy, but showcases the youth of St. Maarten in such a powerful and positive way. The President of COCI was quoted saying: “This choir is simply amazing and the joy it brings is throughout the Island. I was so proud of their performance during the launch of “St. Maarten Flip Flops Walking Forward Together” on the French side of the Island. Representing the country is such a powerful way by our youngest residents.”. The donation was presented by Mr. Anastacio Baker (Vice-President) to Ms. Blondell (Choir coordinator) and Ms. Hodge (Secretary) on January 16th. In the words of Mr. Baker: “The youth is the future of St. Maarten, and the importance of the arts to enhance lives and power the youth is a combination of unmistakable importance to this country’s further and future development. This is what St. Maarten is about and what makes us a force to be reckoned with.”
On Friday September 16, 2016 the St. Joseph school hosted the 6th day of the 9 day Novena for Our Lady of La Salette. In a parish church filled to capacity our students led the congregation in prayer and song. Fr. Elveau Augustine from the Commonwealth of Dominica, this year's preacher, was very pleased with the overall attendance and the excellent way our St. Joseph School performed.
